The Court began as the brainchild of Jennifer Ware, a driving force behind the Earl's Court Community Trust, and was created with grant funding from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It was first owned and managed by Toby Brown, chair of the Trust and founder of +TLC Estate Agents in London, and local resident and businessman Lawrence Denault.

Deborah Cleary and Brian Scudder later took over the title, continuing it as a free, quarterly arts, culture and community newspaper for Earl's Court, with Capco and later the Earls Court Development Company as patrons. More than 250,000 copies have been distributed, reaching an estimated 850,000 readers. Past editions are collected here.
